As a company, we’re committed to welcoming the next generation to the electrical and mechanical sector, and in creating new employment opportunities for local youngsters. We’re extremely proud to have offered permanent positions to every one of our apprentices – with many developing successful careers at Orton.
In fact, apprenticeships have been a cornerstone of Orton’s success since Andrew Lowe (a former Electrical apprentice himself) set up the business more than 25 years ago.
We work with our dedicated training provider, JTL Training, to offer four apprenticeships each year to those interested in pursuing a career in the industry.
If you’d like to find out more, we’d recommend contacting JTL Training in the first instance, where you’ll be required to pass an entrance exam. Once you pass this exam, do inform us about your success and register your interest in joining our team alongside your CV.
We usually interview apprenticeship positions in July ahead of the academic year from September / October.
By undertaking your entrance exam at JTL Training, your details will be saved on their database which is accessible to all electrical contractors engaged with JTL.
In 2013, Orton Group’s apprentice Mike Calleia represented the West Midlands at the JTL Regional Awards, and won the coveted title of Best Apprentice. Like most of our former apprentices, he chose to stay on at the company after completing, testament to our progressive career opportunities and business culture.
